It's been a long long week..

This picture pretty much sums up our week. Monday I headed with the kids to York to see my grandpa. And per my previous post, we were in Omaha on Tuesday having fun at the Children's museum. After a long drive home that night we were all burned out. We woke Wed. morning to find out my Grandpa had passed away.

So we headed back to York for family time and to say goodbye one last time. After a weekend of church services and the funeral we were all pooped. We made it home Sunday afternoon with sketchy naps here and there. We are ALL ready to get back into our routines.

Omaha Children's Museum

Early last week we took a mini vacation. My brother's 4 kids were staying at my mom's so we all headed to Omaha to the Children's museum. For the most part it was fun. My dad took charge of the 4 older kids and we didn't see them until we were ready to leave. Mom and I had our hands full with my 3. Being it was 100° outside I think about every kid in Omaha was at the museum that day. It was so crazy, it was hard to keep my kids around us.

Some of our favorite things:

The boys had fun "driving" the John Deere tractor.

Just like the Kearney museum, the water table is a HUGE hit!
(Yes I had my kids on leashes, go ahead judge me!)

Rylan really got the hang of the slide. Waiting his turn to go down? Not so much...

Our first experience with sand. Junior Archeologists:

We headed to the Pizza Machine after the museum for lunch. My kids were too little to enjoy any of the rides there, but my brothers kids had a blast. We all slept well when we got back to Kearney that night!

Sunday Outing!

This last Sunday we headed to the park for a picnic with the Heartland Triplets and More group. I was a little apprehensive, big park, lot's of strangers, hot muggy weather... Luckily we knew a family with 14 year old GGB triplets that was there. The girls, with the help of another girl triplet were put in charge, by their parents, of "babysitting" my three. That was so awesome! I could talk with other parents and not worry constantly about where my kids were! The weather ended up not being as bad as predicted as well. My kids had so much fun running around like crazies! They quickly approached other people and basically crawled on their laps for attention. There weren't any kids their age to play with, but they made do with the older kids! The picnic was at 12:30, our usual lunch time. I normally put our kids to sleep right after lunch, so I also worried about grouchiness. They were having so much fun that we stayed until 2:30. Once in the car, they passed out before we were 2 blocks away...

Brett did wake up briefly to let me know that I failed to put his head support on.

There were group pictures taken, I'll post one when I get it emailed to me!

The 4th of July!

We had a great holiday weekend! We went to a party Sunday night where we watched the fireworks from a distance. They all had a great time and stayed up until 11! I thought they might sleep in Monday morning, but Rylan woke me up at 6! We dressed up in our Old Navy tanks for pictures.

We spent the afternoon coloring. Recently they have been getting a hold of random pens and trying to draw, so I bought them the crayola markers that only show up on certain paper. They had so much fun, and it gave me time to set up for our 4thof July party.

I had some red, white and blue star floating candles that I had floating in buckets of water. I had intended on lighting them when it got dark. What was I thinking? Buckets of water set out with 3 toddlers? Before we even knew it, Rylan was sitting in one of the buckets.

Notice he is in the smallest bucket. He tried the bigger buckets but he had to fight off the other two from joining him.

These buckets provided hours of entertainment. I finally caved and put their swimsuits on. The candles? They never got lit...

Happy July!

We hit the road again to my mom's for an overnight trip. There was a small antique sale we went to and I picked up this awesome little bench. It's kind of hard to see in the photo as the kids love it! Just their size!

When we got back to my mom's she set up a little sprinkler for the kids. They had so much fun! It was such a hot day, they were so ready to get out of the car and cool down.

We're going to a firework party tonight, and we're having a party tomorrow for the 4th. I hope the kids enjoy the fireworks. I'll try to get some good pictures!
