What a Weekend!

The Babies Are Here!

This weekend proved to be the craziest most anxious weekend of my life. Saturday I called the on call doctor with some mild complaints. She told me to come to the hospital so she could look me over, and she told me I might as well bring a bag. Well I had bags packed so I threw them in the car, I had myself convinced she would check me over and tell me to go home and rest though. That didn't happen. She checked me over and started ordering nurses about on what to do with me. I was hooked up to magnesium to stop contractions that I didn't even know I was having and given one of two steroid shots for the babies lungs. From then on I was on complete bed rest. The magnesium made me extremely ill, throwing up regularly, so I got another medication to fix that. On Sunday I got my second steroid shot, and 24 hours after that (Monday at 1:00) they started to lower my magnesium dose. They told me if I started contractions they wouldn't stop them. Tuesday morning when I woke up at 5:30 I was having contractions, but didn't think much of them. When they checked me over at 6 however, I was fully contracting, so to emergency surgery we went! It all happened so fast, I didn't have time to register what was all going on. I was just thankful my husband had time to get to the hospital. So now on to the important information:

Rylan Joel was born at 7:13 Nov 24th. He was 2 pounds 15 ounces and 16" long.

Brett Henry was born at 7:14 on Nov. 24th. He was 3 pounds 7 ounces and 17 1/4" long.

Brileigh Marie was born at 7:15 on Nov. 24th. She was 3 pounds 1 ounces and 16" long.

All three babies are doing extremely well. Breathing on their own and using their lungs to let us know they are here. They have been sucking on pacifiers very well and will start getting a little food tomorrow to see how their tummies handle it. The doctors couldn't be more pleased with how they are doing so mom and dad are relaxing a little more every hour.

I know it was everyone's prayers that helped these babies get to where they are and I thank all of you. I'm getting stronger every minute so it's getting easier to run into the NICU whenever I feel like it, expect some more photos soon!
