18 Months!

Okay so they turned 18 months over a week ago, but we just had our check up today. Everything looks good Rylan weighed in at 25.12, Brett 25.4 and Brileigh 24 even. After spending a half an hour in the room with us checking them all out one at a time, their doctor looked at me seriously and said "I think I need to prescribe something for adding extra energy." I said for me?

I'm glad they were pretty good at the appointment. We had a crazy night last night. I think it was pretty windy everywhere in Nebraska yesterday, but last night right after I put them to bed, they reported 100 mph wind in Lexington which is 25 minutes away from us. Jeremy came running in the house, get them in the basement now, it's heading this way! I got pack n plays set up in the basement, not knowing how long we would be down there, rounded up the cat and dog and huddled down. The kids knew something was wrong and were crying on and off. Luckily we were only down there for a half an hour with no incidents. They did report 16 tornado touch downs in our area though.

We've been working on some sharing issues in our house lately. Mostly it's Brett wanting what his siblings have at any given moment. Usually they drop what they are holding and move on. But sometimes they don't want to give into the bullies demands. That's when I find some of these on them:
So what should I expect in 5 years, black eyes?

The Weekend Is Here!

I guess when you are small it doesn't really matter that it's the weekend. Brileigh certainly wasn't in the weekend mood this morning. She had her grump on:

Are you taking pictures of me?? I think it had something to do with Dad switching the tv from Mickey to the news.

I also thought I'd let you all know how I named my blog. It has to do with how I found out I was going to have triplets. My first ultra sound, the doctor bluntly told me, there's three. Right there and pointed them out one, two, three.

Lovey Time and Black Eyes

I don't know what are happening to the days lately, but they are flying by! Seriously are the days getting longer or shorter? My little peoples have been letting me sleep in lately, how awesome is that? Maybe having more energy in the day and doing more makes the days seem shorter?

Brett is the most lovey of the three. He was the first one to give kisses. Open mouth and tongue sticking out, but that's how his dad kisses, so I guess he's leading by example. This picture is him pretty much say no more kisses momma!

And I don't know how it happened or when for that matter, but we have our first shiner. It's been around for a couple of days and I finally got around to taking a picture of it. What a toughie!

Brileigh was nice enough to take a time out from running around like a crazy woman and take a picture with me this afternoon. That girl is all go lately! Rylan on the other hand had no time for his momma today... Maybe tomorrow?

Chocolate

If you had asked me a couple of days ago if my kids like chocolate, I would have said absolutely not. I got them tapioca and vanilla pudding a long time ago for snacks and they love it. So I got chocolate for them and they spit it out. They wouldn't even eat cookies with chocolate chips in them. I'm not a huge chocolate eater myself so I figured they didn't care for it, whatever.

I've always heard if your kids don't like something try it again later on, because their tastes change. Well in our case with chocolate, that is just what happened. There were some little bags of M&M's from Easter sitting out on the counter and I decided to see if they would eat them. Who would've thought such tiny little things could make such a mess...

Daddy decided to have himself a chocolate pudding cup last night. I don't think he got a single bite. I think our tastes have changed when it pertains to chocolate.

Oh Monday

So my water heater rusted out on the bottom and flooded part of my basement... How was YOUR Monday?

We had a busy day today, it's supposed to rain the next couple of days. I was in a mad rush to get the kids feed at lunch time and down for their nap so I could mow before J came home with the new water heater. I actually got the yard done right as he got home so I was able to help lug the old rust can out and get the new one downstairs before the kids got up from their nap. You don't realize how much you use hot water until you don't have any.

Rylan has found a new place to play. Why drag your toys out of the toy box when you can just crawl in and play with them? Notice the handy vice holding the lid up. This is my old toy box my grandpa made me. When I put their toys in it, it took about 2 seconds for Brileigh's fingers to get slammed in it.

Speaking of Brileigh, up close and personal! It is so hard to get good photos of them unless they are stuck in a toy box. Once the camera comes out they come running towards it like I'm going to give it to them. Even though they have never gotten to handle the camera, they think I might cave in one of these days.

I don't know if it's because they are getting older or if the warmer weather is getting to them, but they are really rowdy these days! Brileigh, being smaller and slower usually gets the majority of the "beatings". She turned on her brother today though. She was so excited to have him tackled!

And Brett, this little guy has now mastered the art of getting up on EVERYTHING! I ran downstairs to check on the water level for 2 seconds today. I came upstairs to find him on our dining room table. Playing with my brand new MacBook Pro. No I didn't get a picture. I was too busy running and screaming. But doesn't he look so innocent here?

And lastly I managed to get a half way decent shot of the three together. All looking at the camera and smiling. If only you could see how I achieve a photo like this. They are actually all smiling/laughing at their crazy mom jumping up and down saying something like booga booga booga.

New Blog

So I've finally decided to split my life in half. Blog wise anyway. When I started my blog it was way before I knew that my life would change dramatically. In a good way mind you. I started blogging about my passion of crafting and decorating, and I still will, on my other blog. You can check that out if you wish: The Olde Saltbox This blog is going to be devoted to my triplets. I know how fast time flies. You probably do too.

Tempest Fugit

I also know you tend to forget things over time. I've always told people when their kids do something cute or say something adorable, write that down, you forget it someday. I haven't been taking my own advise though and that is something I want to work on. That is one of the missions of this blog. I intend to write almost everyday on the goings on of our daily life, the big stuff, the not so big stuff. A journal if you will. That way when I do sit down to fill out their baby books, I'll have a reference to when something happened.

I invite you to join my journey of life with triplets! I've uploaded any posts from my other blog to this one that pertain to the trio.

Brileigh, the cutie pie!

Brett, the ornery one!

The rocken duo

Rylan, the goof ball!

Growing Up!

That's what we've been doing lately. A lot of growing up! I mean, they are growing faster than the weeds in my garden! They are very independent, wanting to do things on their own, but there are days they get very frustrated when things don't go their way.

They love their bouncy turtle I got them. We've only had a couple of situations where two think they need to be on it at the same time.

Kind of like this picture. Rylan was content rocking in the chair until Brett decided he wanted to rock as well. Unless I step in, they fight for quite a while since no one wants to give in to the other.

A couple of weekends ago we headed back to my parents house. Saturday night we went to watch my dad at the races. The boys REALLY enjoyed it. Brett especially loved to watch the cars go round and round waving his arms madly as they went by. You can tell from the picture, we were in a sky box, there is no way I would have taken them if we had to sit outside. Way too loud and dirty!

We've actually had some warm weather this year. Finally. We had just got back from running a quick errand on Mother's day and when I took them out of the car, I let them roam on the grass while I set up a sprinkler. Once the water started going, the little explorers wanted to know what that was all about. Brileigh was not impressed at all. She really hated the fact that she was barefoot on the grass. (We've since fixed that problem with Old Navy flip flops!) Brett thought the sprinkler was okay, but preferred mom's new landscape of rocks. Rylan on the other hand charged into the water and thoroughly enjoyed himself. Come on Summer!

And check out Miss Brileigh! Sporting the pigtails! Her hair grows soo fast! She loves to get her hair done in the morning. She sits in the bathroom so nice. Every once in a while mom lets her play with a make up brush. She pretends to pat it in powder and they wipes it around on her face. She is ALL GIRL!
